Denver and Virginia are both gorgeous and correct animals from excellent bloodlines. Denver is linebred on the absolutely stunning SGCH Bellafire BP Country Melody 7*M EEEE 91. Virginia's sire is the son of Drops of Jupiter and Zenith, and her dam, Urban Acres GD Hazel, previously made the Top 10 list for volume and protein with a whopping 1,550 lbs produced during her 2016 lactation! We are very excited to see how this combination of stellar genetics comes together!

This breeding brings together all our "E" udders in one place! All of Mikado's close female relatives have scores of E in udder- his dam, sire's dam, dam's dam, and littermate sister. Trinket also earned an E in mammary at appraisal this year. Trinket doesn't like to cooperate for photos, but she is a beautiful doe with fantastic general appearance, an even topline, nice body capacity, a naturally uphill stance, and a beautiful, well-defined udder that is excellent for hand milking. We are expecting these kids to be nice and stretchy like Mikado's kids tend to be.

This is our "production" pairing! Flower is an excellent milker, earning her stars in all 3 categories effortlessly as a first freshener. As a second freshener she is even more impressive, with a high of 5.1 lbs at 24 days fresh and a total of 970 lbs for the full lactation. Denver is from impressive milking lines as well- his dam milked an amazing 6.4 lbs on her first test this year! Denver's dam is also a very long and elegant doe, and we hope these qualities will pass on to Denver's kids.

If raising dairy goats was a beauty contest, Journey would be the winner, hands down. She's the one who always catches the eye of visitors to the farm. She is a beautiful little doe, small in stature and very nicely put together. Her udder has a fantastic MSL and perfect teat placement.
Matilija is the first buck of our own breeding we're incorporating into our breeding program, after 6 years of raising Nigerians. His dam Ghost Flower is our top producer and a wonderful, capacious doe. His sire has been producing beautiful kids for us, and has already sired one 1,000+ lb milker (who also achieved SG and ELITE status) in another herd. Matilija was exactly what we were hoping for from that cross, and we are excited to be using him! We hope he will increase rear udder arch in Journey's kids, as well as turning up the milk volume!

This exciting pairing has Tupelo Honey sprinkled across both sire's and dam's pedigrees. Heartthrob is a gorgeous, very dairy buck, and we unfortunately have very few of his offspring in the herd. We hope to rectify that in the next year or two, since he is not as young as he used to be. Reve is a very well-rounded little doe, and we're looking forward to bringing our Tupelo Honey descendants together with this pairing. Reve's biggest weakness, aside from her refusal to cooperate for photos, is that she currently lacks the body capacity that comes with age- which is not surprising, since she is only 2 years old. We know that she'll be something special once she's had time to fill out a little more. She was a first freshener this year and really impressed us with her first litter- not only did she kid her triplets quickly and easily, all three were very long, angular, dairy, and jut gorgeous. We broke our rule about not keeping any kids out of first fresheners this year as soon as her beautiful doeling, Stars Alight Adora, hit the ground! We are planning on retaining a doeling from this pairing because we need more Heartthrob progeny in our herd and because we're working towards getting him his +B, but any additional doelings will be available.

Skylark has, without a doubt, the widest escutcheon in the herd. Her sire's side of the family has incredible udders (her sire is a son of Roxanne, after all!) and her dam is easily the most productive doe in the herd. Skylark did inherit the shorter body style of her dam, which is why we've bred her to Mikado. Mikado's kids tend to be very long and elegant. We bred Mikado to Skylark's dam Flower last year for the same reason and were happy with what they produced, and we expect more of the same from this pairing.

Heart is a blue-eyed daughter of our Cleveland Sage granddaughter, Reckless. She is long and stretchy like most of Mikado's kids. We expect her to freshen with a nice udder and excellent teat placement, which is what we've come to expect from her maternal line. She was originally bred to Crown, one of the last progeny of the renowned Manuka Honey, but we also brought in Denver "just in case." Both bucks come from excellent bloodlines and the resulting kids should be nice either way. Since Heart is a first freshener, buck kids will not be offered. Any doe kids will be DNA tested.
Heart is a little on the wild side and can be difficult to catch, so she will be available after kidding. Contact us for more information.
