This is once again our production pairing! Flower continues to be our best milker. Her 2022 lactation is still ongoing (but will likely be cut short), but she produced 970 lbs as a second freshener. She held her ground during our 2022 appraisal session and and was commended for having the best udder in the herd. Like Flower, Araxes also brings both milk and conformation to the pairing. Araxes' dam has consistent 1,000 lb lactations, is a permanent champion, and has stood the test of time by appraising at EEEE 92 as an 8 year-old! His sire's dam is equally impressive, with a peak lactation of over 1,600 lbs, SG and ELITE status, and a permanent appraisal score of VEEE 91. She also has the distinction of having been a Top Ten doe for volume, butterfat, and protein.
We are expecting excellent milkers from this cross! One buckling and at least one doe will be retained. Performance homes will have priority for any available kids from this pairing.

This pairing is a linebreeding on the Rosasharn "Honey" line. Trinket is one of our favorite does- she is a respectable milker, has a great udder, beautiful conformation and a naturally uphill stance that we just love. Unfortunately she refuses to cooperate for photos and appraisal, and 2022 saw her score drop quite a bit from what we know she is capable of. We are trying to create another Trinket, while also adding just a little more width to her rear udder arch. Aurelius has a lot of milk behind him, and his dam and littermate sister both have lovely high, wide, well-attached udders, so we think he will accomplish this nicely.

Journey is one of those does who just seems to get better every year. We just love her general appearance- great feet and legs, nice brisket extension, excellent body depth, and a beautiful udder. While she is not our strongest milker, she has one of our favorite udders in the herd, with an excellent, well-defined MSL and near perfect teat placement. We only wish she had more of a rear udder arch, which is why we have chosen to pair her with our young buck, Nightshade. Nightshade's dam and sire's dam both have the beautiful wide, high udders that the Winning Streak herd is known for. Nightshade is very young and still growing into himself, but all of the animals in his pedigree are gorgeous and we know he will compliment our beautiful Journey well!

Contessa is a beautiful long, wide, feminine doe with a promising FF udder. Our 2022 appraiser was very tough, but even so only had good things to say about Contessa. With a little more maturity, she's going to be a show stopper! We are breeding her to Nightshade because he has similar strengths and similar long-bodied, sharp, dairy animals behind him, and we are trying to cement that with their kids.
Both Contessa and Nightshade are wattled, so neck jewelry is likely from this pairing.

Treasure is the only retained heir of one of our favorite senior does, Shadewood WH Golden Trinket. Treasure herself was a linebreeding on the gorgeous Tupelo Honey. This pairing brings in more Tupelo and Buckwheat Honey while still maintaining a COI of less than 6%.
A doeling may be retained from this pairing since we are trying to prove out Aurelius while he is here on lease.

We are so excited to see Adora freshen! She has been a standout since the day she was born. We absolutely love her front end assembly. She is very sharp and angular, with excellent brisket extension and length of body. So far we have only seen one of Mikado's daughters freshen in the herd, but we loved her high, wide, and well-attached udder. We hope for the same from Adora. We expect Nightshade to further improve rear udder arch and height.

Willow is a daughter of our top producing doe, Ghost Flower. We hope that when she freshens, she will have her dam's production with additional udder attachments and height from her sire's side of the pedigree. We are breeding her to Araxes for the same reason we are breeding her dam Flower to him- to double up on the milk production while maintaining conformation that can support it.

This was a last minute addition to the breeding roster, but we think this is actually a pretty neat pairing. For starters, Virginia's sire and Araxes' sire AND dam are all finished champions, with more champions going back in the pedigree as well. Two does in the immediate planned pedigree have been on the ADGA Top Ten list for production: Virginia's dam Hazel with a 1,540 lb lactation, and Araxes' grand dam Lotus with a 1,620 lb lactation. Additionally, Araxes' dam was on the AGS Top Ten list for protein. We love Virginia's beautiful general appearance and her excellent teat placement that this year's appraiser called "near perfect." All she needs is more capacity! We are very excited to see these two heavily decorated pedigrees come together!
